Director AML International (m/f/d)

This role is suited to an experienced AML leader who combines regulatory judgment, operational oversight and governance responsibility, and who is comfortable acting as Deputy MLRO in a complex, regulated banking environment.

• Responsibility for implementation and compliance to Group-wide AML/CTF and sanctions frameworks in Germany and adjacent markets with focus on GwG obligations
• Oversight of AML processes including controls, transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD/EDD, sanctions screening and SARs
• Responsibility for integration activities into SEB-Group structure
• Performance and ongoing enhancement of the institution-wide AML risk assessment
• Drafting and maintenance of AML policies, procedures and training, including implementation of group-wide internal rules
• Acting as Deputy MLRO, including escalation and substitution duties
• Regulatory interface with BaFin, Bundesbank, FIU and auditors
• Budget, resource and team responsibility
• Ensuring readiness for the EU AML Regulation (AMLR) and change initiatives

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in AML/CTF within a regulated financial institution
• Strong knowledge of German and EU AML regulation (GwG, KWG, BaFin guidance) and upcoming AMLR
• Experience as MLRO, Deputy MLRO or in a comparable senior AML role
• Proven leadership experience and exposure to regulatory audits and inspections
• Solid understanding of AML, KYC and sanctions systems and processes
• Strong analytical, risk-based and assertive working style
• Fluent English and German, written and spoken
• Relevant certifications (e.g. CAMS, ICA) considered an advantage
